The Influence of Central Environmental Inspection on the Transformation and Upgrading of Manufacturing Enterprises——Based on the Test of Mediator Effect of Marketization Process
Zhao Haifeng, Li Shiyuan, Wu Zhaowei
    2022, 34 (6):  3-14.
    Abstract ( 275 )   PDF (1256KB) ( 238 )
As a major institutional innovation in the field of environmental governance in China, the Central Environmental Inspection system provides opportunities for manufacturing enterprises to undertake independent transformation though they have to face pressure and challenges.Based on the analysis of the implementation process of the system, this paper, with the help of the annual data about listed manufacturing enterprises from 2012 to 2018,explores the influence of the Central Environmental Inspection on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises by using the Multiphase Difference-in-Differences design. The results show that the Central Environmental Inspection promotes the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises by promoting the marketization process. At the same time, with more rounds of inspection going on,this system's influence goes deeper into the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises, especially those large technology-intensive manufacturing enterprises in eastern China, which benefit significantly from the system. Finally, suggestions are given for the above conclusions.

Information Superiority or Interest Conflicts: The Effect of Share Pledge on Affiliated Analysts' Earnings Forecasts
    Zhang Chenyu, Qian Aimin
    2022, 34 (6):  15-26.
    Abstract ( 158 )   PDF (1263KB) ( 144 )
This paper studies the behaviour of earnings forecasts of affiliated analysts, whose brokers are pledgees of listed firms and related to share pledge firms.Using the data from 2013 to 2017,we find that the earnings forecasts issued by affiliated analysts are less accurate as they tend to issue biased research reports on share pledge firms, and the finding supports the hypothesis of interest conflicts. Moreover, the interest conflicts behaviour of affiliated analysts is more significant in the sample with high equity pledge ratio and poor risk management ability of securities companies. The impact of share pledge on interest conflict of affiliated analysts starts from affiliated analysts' need to acquire private information from share pledge firms and help their securities companies thus resulting in the double interest conflicts that affiliated analysts face with share pledge firms and affiliated securities companies respectively.Overall, this study contributes to the researches on the economic consequences of share pledge, and helps us better understand the earnings forecast behaviour under the interest conflict from the perspective of share pledge.

Comparative Research on the Cross-country Prevention and Control Effects of Epidemic and Its Impact on Economic Development in Various Countries
Qian Zhen, Shi Xueyang, Cheng Bing, Wang Shouyang
    2022, 34 (6):  27-40.
    Abstract ( 356 )   PDF (2947KB) ( 265 )
The worldwide spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) since January 2020 makes it challenging for each country to prevent and control the disease. In order to assess how effective a country's policies are in guarding against COVID-19 in the absence of effective vaccines, this paper introduces a new implied social distance index (ISD index) based on an extended vSIR infectious disease model,to each country or region, which can quantify the effects of national quarantine policies effectively.Firstly, this research indicates ISD index can conveniently measure the effectiveness of each country/region's prevention and control policies in real time and can reflect the dynamic change in the delayed control of virus transmission and spiking and reducing patterns temporally.Secondly, since social quarantine may impact normal social production activities adversely,we hope to find out how various policies affect economic development under the epidemic by using ISD index,so as to provide constructive opinions on the adjustment of follow-up policies and the economic recovery in the post-epidemic era. Therefore,in this paper,we use monthly manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) as a proxy to measure economic impact and use Pearl's causal model to verify the relationship between ISD index and PMI.On average, when an economy implements a whole society social isolation policy, there is an opposite relationship between degree of social distancing and level of economic cooling down. That is,the larger the ISD index is,the better the Covid-19 spread gets controlled and the more seriously the social and economic activities get affected. When an economy implements precise social isolation policies, such policies barely have impact on the economic growth.

Limited Attention, Endogenous Learning and Expected Return
    Ding Yuehua, Liu Weiqi
    2022, 34 (6):  41-52.
    Abstract ( 235 )   PDF (1437KB) ( 152 )
In this paper, informed traders are divided into insider traders and attentive traders. The information asymmetry between the two types of traders entails endogenous learning.Limited attention and endogenous learning behavior are introduced into the theoretical framework of dynamic trading. We explain how attention and learning behavior affect expected return by using the discrete-time model. The research shows that private information and the public information revealed by price have a substitution effect on the choice of trading strategy. At any stage, the expected return of insiders increases slightly with attention at first and then gradually diminishes. The expected return of attentive traders shows an inverted U-shaped change with attention at the beginning of trading and a linear change with attention at the end of trading.

Double Dividend Effect of Vehicle Pollutant Reduction Control Strategy
    Jia Shuwei
    2022, 34 (6):  53-61,182.
    Abstract ( 125 )   PDF (2092KB) ( 114 )
Urban traffic congestion and the resultant air pollution have become social and environmental problems that can't be ignored. Taking motor vehicles as an example, this paper introduces penalty mechanism to construct an improved model of motor vehicle pollutant emission reduction management. Through dynamic simulation, this paper explores the effects of different policies and schemes on the main variables, and then reveals the dividend effect of different strategies. The results show that:(1) Proper amount of fines can bring good economic and social benefits in such a way as to effectively reduce GDP depletion, inhibit illegal travel and ease off the traffic. (2) By comparing the effects of the three policies air pollution of charging fee (APCF), penalty and subsidy, it is found that:in terms of congestion mitigation, APCF > penalty > subsidy; in terms of reducing illegal motor vehicle travel, penalty > APCF > subsidy; in terms of emission reduction, APCF > subsidy > penalty; and the effects of subsidy and penalty are not obvious.

    Du Shanzhong
    2022, 34 (6):  62-75.
    Abstract ( 247 )   PDF (1300KB) ( 221 )
Based on the sample of Chinese family firms listed from 2011 to 2016, this paper studies the relationship between family decision rights allocation and corporate innovation. Meanwhile, the moderating effects of slack resources and social-emotional wealth are discussed. The results show that:(1) there is a significant negative correlation between family-family decision rights allocation and corporate innovation, a significant positive correlation between family-occupation decision rights allocation and corporate innovation, no significant relationship between occupation-family decision rights allocation and corporate innovation, and a significant positive correlation between occupation-occupation decision rights allocation and corporate innovation, with the positive impact of family-occupation decision rights allocation being the most significant; (2) for family-family and family-occupation, slack resources weaken the relationship between decision rights allocation and corporate innovation; (3) for family-family and family-occupation, restricted social-emotional wealth strengthens decision rights allocation and corporate innovation; (4) extended social-emotional wealth weakens the relationship between family-occupation decision rights allocation and corporate innovation, and extended social-emotional wealth strengthens the positive correlation between occupation-occupation decision rights allocation and corporate innovation. From the perspective of decision rights allocation, this paper explains the innovation strategy in family firms, and focuses on the influence of slack resources and social-emotional wealth, which has certain enlightenment on how to design the decision rights allocation in family firms.

Organizational Ability, International Venturing and Internationalization Performance
    Jiang Xu, Pan Ke
    2022, 34 (6):  76-89.
    Abstract ( 168 )   PDF (1364KB) ( 160 )
Scholars have increasingly emphasized the importance of institutional differences between host countries and home countries for MNCs. However, prior researches seldom examined the possible impacts of institutional differences on emerging market firms' international venturing, and our study attempts to fill in this research gap. We take the perspective of both institutional escapism and institutional arbitrage to explore how technological capabilities (TC) and marketing capabilities (MC) impact internationalization performance. In so doing, we propose a moderated mediation model by considering international venturing as a mediator and environmental scanning as a moderator. Findings from two key sources of information regarding 150 Chinese firms suggest that international venturing mediates the relationship between TC/MC and international performance, and environmental scanning strengthens the positive effects of TC/MC on international venturing. Besides, the indirect effect of international venturing on the MC-internationalization performance relationship is stronger when environmental scanning exists at a high level. Overall, this study extends institutional theory to internationalization research by offering insights regarding why and how emerging market firms venture abroad.

Founder's Human Capital and the Innovation of High-tech Start-ups: A Moderated Mediation Model
Guan Jian, Deng Fang, Chen Mingshu, Rui Xuemei
    2022, 34 (6):  90-102.
    Abstract ( 165 )   PDF (1340KB) ( 149 )
To explore the mechanism of how founder's human capital impacts the innovation of high-tech start-ups, this paper constructs a moderated mediation model focusing on the mediating effect of venture capital and further including the institutional environment as a moderating variable. Based on the data of 305 high-tech start-ups from 2007 to 2017, the empirical results show that:First, founder's higher education level and management experience can not only directly promote the innovation of high-tech start-ups, but also indirectly promote the innovation by attracting venture capital. Second, founder's entrepreneurial experience only has a direct positive impact on the innovation of high-tech start-ups. Third, although founder's technical expertise has a significant positive impact on attracting venture capital, it does not directly affect the innovation of high-tech start-ups. Further research shows that the synergistic effect of entrepreneurial or management experience and technical expertise can significantly promote the innovation of high-tech start-ups. Fourth, institutional environment moderates founder human capital's direct and indirect impacts on the innovation of high-tech start-ups.

Li Shuwen, Luo Jinlian, Hua Changhua, Tang Huijie, Guo Limin
    2022, 34 (6):  103-114.
    Abstract ( 203 )   PDF (2426KB) ( 195 )
Based on ambidextrous leadership in time and space, this study discusses how and why ambidextrous leadership in the context of spatial separation influences radical innovation. Study 1 empirically tests the boundary of simultaneous ambidextrous leadership's influence on radical innovation by using two-time data of 487 employees in the manufacturing industry. Study 2 reveals the path of simultaneous ambidextrous leadership's influence on radical innovation through case interviews of S.&T. enterprises. Study 3 uses data of 135 employees in S.&T. enterprises to compare the configuration paths of the impact of many important factors on radical innovation by QCA method. The results show that simultaneous ambidextrous leadership has a significant positive impact on radical innovation, and external interaction mediates the moderating role of fault-tolerant ability between the two; simultaneous ambidextrous leadership influences radical innovation through decision-making participation and knowledge sharing at the knowledge level, and efficiency and expected contribution at psychological level. Motivation-oriented path of participation-innovation, with decision-making participation, efficacy and expected contribution as the core elements, is the optimal path for simultaneous ambidextrous leadership to influence radical innovation. This paper not only provides a space-time separation perspective for future researches on ambidextrous leadership, but also reveals the best conditions for radical innovation from the perspective of boundaries and paths.

Huo Shengping, Liu Hai, Tan Min
    2022, 34 (6):  115-129.
    Abstract ( 130 )   PDF (1379KB) ( 143 )
Smallholder farmers face bottlenecks such as uneconomic scale, unremarkable features and low-level organization. They get locked in a conservative traditional development path typical of small-scale peasant economy.Under the current agricultural information ecological chain generated by "Internet+agriculture",their knowledge potential difference and niche breadth can be improved. And embedding into agriculture-related network relationship, they carry out dual innovation by entrepreneurial patchwork. This paper builds a theoretical model that draws upon 462 smallholder farmers associated with 55 agriculture-related management, operation and service organizations to analyze the path and influencing factors of small-holder innovation. The research results show the reversed U-shaped impact of knowledge potential difference on the dual-innovation of smallholder farmers, the positive impact of niche breadth on the dual-innovation,the mediating role of entrepreneurial patchwork in the influence of knowledge potential difference and niche breadth on the dual-innovation,and the positive role of agriculture-related network relationship embeddedness in adjusting the entire path. This means that smallholder farmers can reduce the knowledge gap, expand the breadth of the ecological niche, and embed in agriculture-related network relationships with the help of information exchange, element aggregation and self-organization functions of the "Internet+ ".Then they can realize dual innovation with scale effect, long tail effect and organized situation by entrepreneurial patchwork, and integrate into the industrial, production and management system of modern agriculture. As a result, they can use their advantage of being delicately small to become innovative modern smallholder farmers, just as "many a little makes a mickle".

Supply Chain Integration and NPD Performance: The Impacts of Ambidextrous Innovation and Technological Turbulence
    Yang Linbo, Gan Chenjing
    2022, 34 (6):  130-142.
    Abstract ( 673 )   PDF (1352KB) ( 414 )
Based on resource dependence theory, the current research develops a moderated two-mediator-mediation model. In a sample of 233 independent companies from the mainland of China, study results almost confirm our suggestions. We find that supply chain integration is not only directly but also indirectly related with new product development (NPD) performance through exploratory innovation (path one) conditionally, and the mediation effect is stronger under high technological turbulence than under low one. However, supply chain integration is directly but not indirectly related with NPD performance through exploitative innovation (path two) conditionally, and the mediation effect is significant just under mean technological turbulence.Meanwhile, through subgroup comparative statistical analysis,we draw the conclusion that the significant moderated mediation effect of exploratory innovation is superior to the insignificant moderated mediation effect of exploitative innovation under all values of technological turbulence. The current research clarifies that supply chain integration is suggested to indirectly associate with NPD performance, through ambidextrous innovation in parallel, with the strength of these indirect linkages hinging on the technological turbulence. The empirical implication of this research is that top managers can choose a suitable innovation pattern to improve NPD performance by employing supply chain resources according to the conditions of technological turbulence.

A Prosecution Decision Support and Cases Files Classification Management System Based on Text Mining
Shi Yong, An Wenlu, Qu Yi
    2022, 34 (6):  143-152.
    Abstract ( 248 )   PDF (2862KB) ( 153 )
The construction of "smart prosecution" has made great progress in recent years. However, most of the achievements are mainly in the field of prosecution informatization and data infrastructure development, with very few researches and very limited attention on decision support for prosecution. To fill this gap, based on factor that the core task in prosecution is to "prosecute criminal offenses" and prosecutors "decide which charge to prosecute according to the basic case information", this paper uses text mining techniques to establish a text classification-based decision support system for prosecution. This system mainly consists of text pre-processing, feature extraction, classification and other processes while it inputs the cases description text and automatically outputs the corresponding prosecution charges. Experimental results show that this system can achieve high accuracy with various classification models, different number of features input and different text vector representation methods. It not only achieves effective and high-precision prosecution decision support, but also improves the efficiency of case file classification management. Our research work in this paper is a pioneering attempt in the field of big data mining-assisted prosecution decision making and a concrete practice of "promoting the intelligence of prosecution". Our findings enrich the field of research and provide relevant data and conclusions that can be used as a baseline for future application and practice in this field.

A Research on How to Generate Group Excitement among Corporate Microblogs Fans
    Wang Xingyuan, Liu Yun
    2022, 34 (6):  162-172.
    Abstract ( 206 )   PDF (1462KB) ( 211 )
Content is the soul of enterprise microblog. Enterprise microblog communicates with consumers through publishing content, and builds and maintains the relationship between brands and consumers. Highly evocative content can lead to viral spread among consumers. It's not clear when or what kind of contents a company posts that can generate group excitement among fans. Based on the analysis of 966 posts and 310,164 following comments, this paper explores the influence of the content type and post time of enterprise microblog on group excitement. The research finds that different types of contents can trigger different level of group excitement. To be specific, the incentive type triggers the highest level, the informative type triggers the medium level and the social type triggers the lowest level. Interestingly, for social contents, there is no effect on group excitement whenever they are posted in a day. However, for incentive and information contents, the highest level of group excitement can be generated by morning posts, the medium level by evening posts, and the lowest level by afternoon posts. The research conclusion of this paper enriches the application of group emotion and circadian rhythm in the field of marketing, and at the same time provides theoretical guidance for the microblog content publishing strategy of enterprises.

An Empirical Study of Green Consumption Intention Based on the Perspective of Intergenerational Inheritance
Ding Zhihua, Chen Pengchao, Wang Yawei
    2022, 34 (6):  173-182.
    Abstract ( 308 )   PDF (1515KB) ( 338 )
Green consumption is the key to promoting sustainable development not to the detriment of future generations. However, inheritance motivation as an incentive for green consumption behavior has not attracted adequate attention.Using construal level theory and life history theory as guiding frameworks, this study constructs a theoretical model to investigate the influence of legacy motivation on green consumption intention, with future orientation as the mediator and construal level as the moderator.Experiment 1 explores the positive impact of legacy motivation on green consumption intention,Experiment 2 explores the mediating effect of future orientation, and Experiment 3 explores the moderating effect of construal level through a 2×2 inter-group design. The results show that the initiation of inheritance motivation improves the individuals' future orientation level, which in turn increases their green consumption intention. When individuals are inclined to high construal level, the positive influence of inheritance motivation on future orientation is strengthened, which further promotes green consumption intention.Nevertheless, the tendency to low construal level produces a restraining effect. This paper expands the literature on the intrinsic motivation of green consumption behavior and provides a new direction for companies to design green product marketing strategies.

    2022, 34 (6):  183-191.
    Abstract ( 128 )   PDF (1498KB) ( 178 )
The introduction of advertising has become a basic way for network agents to enhance the competitiveness of agency channel.Based on competition relationship analysis of online brand direct sales and online agent of dual electronic channels, this paper establishes Stackelberg game models that involves two optimal pricings of recommendation advertising of online agent introduction. We discuss the relationship between the introduction of recommendation advertising and the recommendation advertising investment level and the online agency channel acceptability of consumers, and these factors' influence on the optimal pricing decision of dual electronic channels. The results show that the introduction of recommendation advertising can expand the online agent market, and its optimal introduction time is closely related to the recommendation advertising investment level and the online agency channel acceptability of consumers. The introduction of recommendation advertising will promote the online brand to reduce the direct selling price and increase the wholesale price, and increase the price competition pressure of online agent. No matter whether recommendation advertising is introduced or not,the optimal selling price of online agent increases with the online agency channel acceptability of consumers. The introduction of recommendation advertising by online agent within a reasonable level of recommendation advertising input level will contribute to the expansion of market demand. If the recommendation advertising is introduced, the optimal direct selling price of online brand decreases and the optimal wholesale price increases, while the optimal selling price of online agent increases with the input of recommendation advertising. The introduction of recommendation advertising will decrease the optimal direct selling price and increase the wholesale price of online brand product, and the optimal selling price of online agency will increase with the increase of the recommendation advertising input level.

    Ma Yueru, Bai Tongtong
    2022, 34 (6):  203-214.
    Abstract ( 230 )   PDF (1309KB) ( 211 )
Unethical pro-organizational behavior goes contrary to the vision of sustainable development and may bring losses to both the reputation and interests of an organization. Therefore, exploring its formation mechanism and influencing factors in the context of Chinese culture can effectively prevent such behavior and contribute to the long-term development of Chinese organizations. Based on the self-classification theory, 52 family-managed private Start-ups are used as a sample to explore the impact of employee-organizational family-like exchange relationship in Chinese organizations on the unethical pro-organizational behavior, and explore the mechanism and boundary conditions. The empirical results show that the employee-organizational family-like exchange relationship has a positive impact on the unethical pro-organizational behavior. Employees' cognition of insiders' status plays a partial intermediary role in the relationship between family-like exchange relationship and unethical pro-organizational behavior. The degree of differential leadership positively adjusts the mediating role of internal identity recognition. The research conclusions expand the antecedent variables of unethical pro-organizational behavior in the Chinese culture background, and have certain enlightenment for guiding the Chinese organizations to correctly manage the unethical pro-organizational behavior of their employees.

The Influence of Leader-Member Exchange Congruence on Employees' Citizenship Behaviors
Qi Meng, Niu Xiongying, Dong Yujie, Yang Zaoli
    2022, 34 (6):  215-225.
    Abstract ( 270 )   PDF (2228KB) ( 245 )
In the relationship between leaders and employees, the consistency of their perception for exchange relationship plays an important role in enhancing employees' organizational citizenship behaviors. However, existing studies only explain this process from a single perspective of employees or leaders. This study takes the perspective of leadership-employee to explore the influence of leadership-employee exchange consistency on employees' organizational citizenship behaviors by reference to social exchange theory and organizational identity theory. Based on a three-stage survey of 85 leaders and 352 employees in 7 high-tech enterprises, the polynomial regression and response surface analysis are carried out. The results show that compared with the "low-low", "low-high" and "high-low" exchange between leaders and members, in the situation of "high-high" exchange, employees' organizational citizenship behaviors is the best; organizational identity moderates the relationship between leader-member exchange consistency and organizational citizenship behaviors. This conclusion clarifies the relationship between leader-employee exchange consistency and employees' organizational citizenship behaviors, expands the antecedents of organizational citizenship behaviors, develops the social exchange theory and organizational identity theory, and extends the situational mechanism research of leader-employee exchange consistency from the perspective of organizational identity. In the field of practice, the study puts forward the idea of preparing employees for professional dedication by developing the exchange consistency between leaders and employees to the extent that leaders become "confidants" of employees.

Can Developmental Job Challenges Promote Innovation Performance?——A Multilevel Influence Mechanism Based on the Systems Theory of Motivated Behavior
Song Kuntai, Liu Shengyang, Liu Han, Du Pengcheng
    2022, 34 (6):  226-242.
    Abstract ( 191 )   PDF (1549KB) ( 244 )
The importance of innovation for enterprises is self-evident.Developmental job challenges can improve innovation performance of leaders, but its effect on individuals or teams is still unclear.Based on the systems theory of motivated behavior,we prove the hypotheses through 231 valid leader-subordinate dyads. The results suggest that developmental job challenges are positively related to innovation performance at both individual and team level.Team and leader boundary spanning behavior mediates the effect of developmental job challenges on innovation performance at team level.Individual boundary spanning behavior mediates the effect of developmental job challenges on innovation performance at individual level.Team performance motivational climate negatively moderates the relationship between developmental job challenges to individual boundary spanning behavior and the mediating role of individual boundary spanning behavior. The analysis of FSQCA also confirms the findings above. The conclusions not only enrich the literature on the relationship between developmental job challenges and individual/team innovation performance, but also reveal the multilevel mediating role of boundary spanning behavior and the moderating role of team performance motivational climate.

    2022, 34 (6):  243-256.
    Abstract ( 260 )   PDF (3260KB) ( 268 )
Research on the organizational routines has become a front and focus subject in the related fields. According to existing theoretical researches, we depict the basic constitution and internal feature of organizational routines and analyze its change rule. Based on the analysis of individual behavior, this paper simulates different change processes of routines by mean of multi-agent artificial society modeling. The results indicate that when the organizational environmental change reaches to a high accumulation with very low rate, radical change of routine may happen suddenly. When the organizational environment compel individuals to change their existing routines, gradual replacement of current behavior has advantage over the radical change if the coupling in routine system is tight. Cognitive codified artifacts can intensify the path lock-in or prompt some radical changes, depending on the implementation mode. Organizational socialization once gets started, the path of routine evolution will narrow and situation of coexistence of different behaviors will terminate.

Project-based Organization's Network Embeddedness and Project Performance
Dong Meichen, Jiao Jie, Zhang Si
    2022, 34 (6):  257-267.
    Abstract ( 151 )   PDF (1307KB) ( 155 )
No consensus has been reached regarding the impact of network embeddedness on performance. We use the context of project-based organization to further discuss this relationship and its mechanism. This study uses the data of Chinese film industry from 2000 to 2015 to study the impact of team network embeddedness on project performance. Results show that the relationship between project team network centrality and project performance is an inverted U-shaped curve. Moreover, two different main networks, expert network (team) and firm network (production firm and distribution firm), where a project is embedded have a substitution effect, and firms' network centrality negatively moderates the effect of team centrality on project performance. Project heterogeneity (movie types) positively moderates the effect of team network centrality on project performance. This paper enriches the literature of network embeddedness and project-based organization. It not only discusses the "embeddedness paradox", but also studies the impact of dual network embeddedness on performance from the perspective of different acting subjects. It expands the analysis framework in comparison with traditional dual network embeddedness that focuses only on different environments. It also enriches the theoretical boundary of project network by discussing the attributes of the project itself. This special organizational form of project-based organization provides theoretical support and practical guidance.

Will Internationalization Promote Corporate Social Responsibility Decoupling in the Home Country?——Based on the Perspective of Institutional Logic
    Wang Yimin, Wang Youchun
    2022, 34 (6):  268-279.
    Abstract ( 181 )   PDF (1294KB) ( 198 )
In the process of "going global" to achieve international expansion and obtain overseas resources,Chinese enterprises are faced with multiple institutional embeddedness and the corresponding institutional pressures.Out of the strategic consideration regarding global legitimacy construction,Chinese enterprises would decouple corporate social responsibility in home country (this means inconsistency between substantive social responsibility practice and social responsibility report) in response to the competing institutional logics between home and host country.Based on the perspective of institutional logic, this paper examines the impact of internationalization on the decoupling of social responsibility in home country.Through the research sample data of China's listed companies from 2011 to 2018,we test the moderating effect of industrial competitive pressure and institutional distance. We conclude that:(1) As the degree of internationalization increases, responsive social responsibility decoupling in home market decreases, while the strategic social responsibility decoupling increases;(2) The industry competition pressure weakens the negative relationship between internationalization degree and responsive social responsibility decoupling of home country, and strengthens the positive relationship between the internationalization degree and the strategic social responsibility decoupling;(3) The negative institutional distance negatively moderate the relationship between internationalization degree and responsive social responsibility decoupling. The research conclusions provide reference for enterprises from emerging economies to respond to the complex institutional pressures and legitimacy requirements through social responsibility strategies.

In response to the increasing market uncertainty, changing environment of international competition and rising tariff barriers and labor costs over recent years, some export-oriented enterprises have adopted vertical integration to control their production costs. This paper studies an export-oriented manufacturing company that. adopts two different vertical integration modes to produce two kinds of necessary parts. The first mode is partially vertical integration, namely, one kind of parts are manufactured in house and the other by outsourcing. The second mode is completely vertical integration, namely, both kinds of parts are manufactured in house. In order to compare the different characteristics of the two production modes, this paper establishes a partially vertically integrated system dynamics model and a completely vertically integrated system dynamics model under the premise that market demand and supplier's effective output are both random. Our simulation analysis shows that at a given tariff rate, there is a unique optimal demarcation point for manufacturers to take action and at a higher tariff rate increases, the optimal demarcation point goes downward. Moreover, by factoring labor cost into the vertically integrated model, we find that labor cost has the same effect on the manufacturer's decision.

Do Corporate Strategic Differences Affect Commercial Credit Financing?——Analysis of the Regulatory Effects Based on Scale Discrimination and Industry Characteristics
    Hu Zhiliang, Zheng Minggui
    2022, 34 (6):  292-302.
    Abstract ( 123 )   PDF (1277KB) ( 146 )
This paper constructs a theoretical model of corporate strategic differences and trade credit financing, and empirically analyzes their correlation based on the data of Chinese listed non-financial and non-ST firms from 2009 to 2018.This paper also discusses the influence of scale discrimination and industry characteristics on corporate strategic differences and trade credit financing. The research finds that:(1) There is a significant negative correlation between corporate strategic differences and trade credit financing, especially in the large-scale enterprises which should reduce their trade credit suppliers' scale discrimination to obtain more trade credit financing.(2) It is easier for industry-regulating firms and firms with a relatively high proportion of tangible assets to obtain more trade credit financing.(3) The more intense the industry competition is,the more difficult it is for the firms to obtain more trade credit financing. And hence, they should actively communicate with the sponsors and customers to improve the disclosure of strategic information,so that they can understand the potential benefits brought by the strategic differences.

    2022, 34 (6):  303-314.
    Abstract ( 306 )   PDF (1743KB) ( 165 )
It is tricky about using single or plural first person pronoun in a brand owner's apology and so far few studies have made any constructive attempt in this regard.Based on Stereotype Theory, the current research finds that single first person pronoun used in an apology for competence issue tends to be better received than plural first person pronoun.By contrast, plural first person pronoun used in an apology for integrity issue tends to be better received than single first person pronoun. This research also finds that such effect is mediated by customers' personified perception toward a brand. To be specific, single first person pronoun is better able to evoke customers' personified perception than plural first person pronoun and such difference leads to distinct customer expectation toward a brand owner's integrity and competence. This research not only enriches the theoretical implications of personification, but also enables practitioners to better manage customer perception through communication.

Optimization Model for Allocating Emergency Budget under the Environment of Epidemic Outbreak

    2022, 34 (6):  315-324.
    Abstract ( 144 )   PDF (1574KB) ( 175 )
To depict the interaction effect between emergency resource allocation and epidemic spread,an innovative decision-making framework model is constructed in this paper. The new decision-making framework not only considers the influence of population mitigation among different infected areas, but also integrates the key factors such as the limited number of isolation wards under the condition of limited emergency budget and together with a time-varying patient admission rate.Based on the idea of knapsack problem,a mixed integer non-linear programming model for allocating the limited emergency budget is proposed. The model is then linearized and thus it can be solved directly. The test results demonstrate that emergency budget should be inclined to population inflow areas.More than that, there are threshold effects in both emergency budget and initial intervention time. After the threshold is exceeded, even a higher emergency budget does not work for epidemic controlling.

    2022, 34 (6):  325-340.
    Abstract ( 182 )   PDF (3008KB) ( 249 )
Latecomers that grow up to become unicorns by improving their innovating ability are driving the high-quality development of private economy in China. However, there are conflicts between innovation orientation and investor bias, thus leading to finance constraints.By the case study of WuXi AppTec,this paper explores the mutual relationship between innovation and capital. It is found that innovation capability and financing scale could co-exist and promote each other. In certain cases, there is a mismatch in the process of "innovation-capital" growing together.Companies in pursuit of independent development should abandon the original market and seek a new suitable capital market. This paper reveals how to achieve the match between innovation input and capital investment, and also provides practical guidance for latecomer companies that are catching up.

    2022, 34 (6):  341-352.
    Abstract ( 255 )   PDF (2156KB) ( 260 )
In recent years,a hot topic on how to solve social problems through commercial path has drawn attention from both academic and business communities. From the perspectives of social entrepreneurship, effectuation, and institutional logic, this paper conducts a double case study on how user social entrepreneurship promotes the formation of business ecosystem.Taking two benefit corporations,Smart Air and How Bottle,as the research objects, this study refines six dimensions, including relating users' experience, grafting existing products and technologies in the market, applying business model, creating social value, partnering with companies that share the same value proposition, and joining professional organizations, and then constructs a process model from user social entrepreneurship to the business ecosystem formation. The paper explains the internal logics of how the social entrepreneurship of the core enterprises forms their business ecosystems from three stages:the integration of user social entrepreneurship resources, the balance of commercial and social attributes, and the construction of business ecosystem. This study provides an insight deep into the mechanism of business ecosystem formation and a guidance for social enterprises, commercial enterprises and other participants of business ecosystem.
