Abstract: It is believed in the positive organizational behavior theory that employees’ positive psychological characteristics have a positive impact on their work behavior. The influence of humor on employees’ creativity has gradually attracted scholars’ attention, but the underlying mechanism is still unclear. Based on trait-state-behavior model and trait activation theory, applying multilevel structural equation modeling (MSEM), this study examines the relationship between humor trait and team members’ creativity through 422 paired samples. Results show that humor trait has a positive impact on team members’ creativity, and psychological resilience mediates the relationship between humor trait and team members’ creativity. Results also indicate that team emotional climate positively moderates the indirect effect of humor trait on team members’ creativity via psychological resilience. Based on the above research conclusions, this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to improve team members’ creativity by cultivating employees’ humor sense.
