The Influence of Work Alienation on Work Performance——Chinese Traditionality as the Moderator Variable

Abstract:

Through the method of Hierarchical Regression Modeling, we make an empirical research on 265 employees in Chinese context, explore the influence of work alienation on work performance, and reveal the moderate role of Chinese traditionality. The result indicates that: in the Chinese organizational context, work alienation impacts on task performance negatively but non-significantly, while Chinese traditionality exerts a significant and enhanced moderate effect on the relationship between work alienation and task performance; work alienation impacts on job dedication negatively and significantly, moreover, Chinese traditionality significantly moderates the relationship between work alienation and job dedication in enhancement mode; work alienation has no obvious negative influence on interpersonal facilitation, meanwhile, Chinese traditionality has no significant moderate effect on the relationship between work alienation and interpersonal facilitation.
