Abstract: The selection and training of duty crime investigators is very important for the fight against corruption in China. The effective investigation of duty crimes not only needs the support of law and system, but also depends on the behavior and comprehensive characteristics of investigators, namely competency characteristics. By analyzing the questionnaire data of investigators engaged in duty crime in Beijing, this paper explores the relationship among competency characteristics, trust, knowledge sharing and job performance of investigators engaged in duty crime. The results show that the competency characteristics of job crime investigators can positively predict their job performance, and trust and knowledge sharing have significant positive moderating effects on the relationship between competency characteristics and job performance when the competency characteristics are significant. It is of great significance to understand the mechanism of how the competency characteristics of duty crime investigators influence their work performance for improving the personnel management of duty crime investigators, stimulating their work enthusiasm, improving the efficiency of anti-corruption work, and adapting to the requirements of the public in the new era.
