Abstract: With the four-stage theory of scientific development, we apply the bibliometrics, social networks, and content analysis methods to analyze the domestic and foreign literature of the Wuli-Shili-Renli (WSR) System methodology from 1995 to the present. We explore the evolution stages of WSR with the basic literature profile, research content, and academic cooperation in the WSR research field. We find that WSR research began its conceptualization and tool construction stages in 1994 and entered the application stage in 2005; domestic and foreign WSR researches develop at different speed; WSR should prepare for the challenge of the coming integration stage. This research is also an empirical study of the four-stage theory of scientific development; our analysis framework might provide implications for the evolution rules analysis of other disciplines and methodologies.
