Corporate Social Responsibility and Its Governance for Platform Business in China——Based on Literature Analysis

Abstract: This paper studies the research status and research trends in corporate social responsibility and its governance for platform business in China by analyzing 155 papers within CNKI database via CiteSpace keyword co-occurrence analysis and qualitative literature analysis. The results show that:(1) The number of papers studying the topic is going through a general rise, especially after 2015, which was mainly triggered by government policies and the rapid CSR malpractices of platform businesses in China; (2) Existing studies employ diverse terminologies equivalent to platform business when studying the topic and pay particular attention to large-scale platform businesses related to the livelihoods of the public; (3) Existing studies focus mainly on the interrelation of platform business CSR and financial performance, causes of platform business CSR malpractices, taxonomies and governance of platform business CSR; (4) Increasing attention are paid to the governance of platform business CSR. Through qualitative analysis of the most cited literature of the most cited authors in the area based on the quantitative data, the paper summarizes the CSR governance models and schemes of platform business proposed by Chinese scholars and puts forward some suggestions for future research in the area based on existing limitations.
