The Relationship among Information Technology Capability, Trust and Supply Chain Integration

Abstract:

As the era of Internet and big data is coming, manufacturers have to improve their information technology capacity to manage the information flow of the supply chain. Based on resource-based view and transaction costs theory,the relationship among IT capability, trust and supply chain integration are examined in this paper. According to the sample of 162 manufacturing companies in Pearl River Delta, the study uses hierarchical regression modeling and method of testing mediating effect to validate our hypotheses. Result indicates that the information technology and the trust are also the driving factors which affect supply chain integration. Information technology capability has a significant positive impact on supplier integration, internal integration, customer integration. Supplier trust has a significant positive impact on supplier integration and customer trust has a significant positive impact on customer integration. Supplier trust plays a fully intermediary role in relationship between information technology capability and supplier integration, and customer trust plays a partial intermediary role in relationship between information technology capability and customer integration.
