产业技术群间关系耦合与网络抗毁性:一个中介效应研究

Partnerships Coupling of Industry Technology Groups and the Network Invulnerability: A Study of the Mediating Effect

摘要: 多变的技术环境下,技术群作为产业创新网络内主体开展创新活动的主要形式已备受关注。学者们指出技术群间交互与创新网络平稳运行的关系存在分歧,且作用机制尚不明确。本研究旨在明晰技术群间的关系耦合对网络抗毁性的影响及结构同质性在二者之间的中介机制,以新能源产业为实证分析对象,利用USPTO数据库获得的专利数据,构建2005—2018年的138个专利引用网络,通过执行层次回归分析方法来验证假设。结果发现,技术群间的关系耦合强度与网络抗毁性之间呈倒U型关系,结构同质性显著负向影响网络抗毁性,且结构同质性在技术群间关系耦合与网络抗毁性的影响机制中起部分中介作用。通过揭示结构同质性的部分中介传导效应,研究有助于增强对创新网络平稳运行内在机理的理解,而且对抗毁性视角下调控技术群间耦合活动、网络趋同连接倾向具有现实指导意义。

Abstract: The phenomenon of “huddling together for warmth” has emerged in an ever-changing technological environment. Previous studies have found that innovation interaction at the micro level plays an extremely important role in network invulnerability, but two contradictory conclusions have been drawn. Previous studies have shown that the interaction of technology groups from the perspective of partnership is closely related to network homogeneity. Moreover, it is argued that structural homogeneity directly affects the invulnerability of innovation networks, but this arguement has not been widely accepted. In view of this, this study aims to solve the following two issues: first, the relationship between the coupling of partnerships among technology groups and the invulnerability of innovation networks; and second, the role of structural homogeneity in the above. We take the new energy industry as the research object, and construct 138 patent citation networks during the time-window from 2005 to 2018. The empirical results show that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the coupling strength of technology groups and the invulnerability of innovation network. Moreover, structural homogeneity plays a partial mediating role in the above relationship. This study helps to better understand the internal mechanism of the smooth operation of innovation networks. Moreover, from the perspective of network invulnerability, it provides practical guidance for regulating coupling activities among technology groups and network assortativity.
