Abstract: Under the increasingly competitive and dynamic complex environment, improving the operational performance through service supply chain external integration (SSCEI) has become a common concern in the theoretical and practical circles. This paper constructs a moderated mediation model to explore the micro-mechanism that SSCEI does to operational performance (OP). Based on a survey data from 227 service firms, the empirical analysis shows that both CI and SI have a significantly positive effect on OP; IQ plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between SSCEI and OP. In addition, environmental uncertainty (EN) not only positively moderates the relationship between SSCEI and IQ, but also enhances the mediating effects of EN, that is, there is a moderated mediation.
