Abstract: As a new dynamic capability, organizational resilience can enhance enterprises’ adaptability, enhance their vitality and earn them sustainable competitive advantage. The purpose of this paper is to explore a new way to drive enterprise performance by learning from failures, and to empirically test the relationship among learning from failures, organizational resilience and enterprise performance under the condition of environmental dynamics. Specifically, single-loop learning from failures and double-loop learning from failures can effectively improve enterprise performance; bouncing back plays an intermediary role between single-loop learning from failures and enterprise performance, while bouncing forward plays an intermediary role between double-loop learning from failures and enterprise performance. Environmental dynamics not only strengthen the relationship between single-loop learning from failures and firm performance, but also strengthen the relationship between double-loop learning from failures and firm performance. This study reveals the intermediary mechanism and situational conditions of enterprise performance driven by learning from failures, and provides enlightenment for the survival and development of enterprises under the background of economic transformation.
