Abstract: Industrial agglomeration has an important impact on the dual engines of regional green development:regional environmental governance and economic development. This paper attempts to examine the differential effects of different industrial agglomeration models on regional green development from the perspective of spatial correlation, and analyze specialized industrial agglomeration and the impact mechanism of diversified industrial agglomeration on the level of regional green development. Then the data of 30 provinces in China from 2005 to 2017 and the spatial panel Durbin model are used to conduct an empirical test. The research results show that:(1) the concentration of specialized industries can promote the level of green development in the region, but the increase in the proportion of the secondary industry will weaken the role of agglomeration of specialized industries in promoting the level of local green development; (2) agglomeration of diversified industries has a restraining effect on the level of green development in the region, and the increase in the proportion of the secondary industry in the industrial structure will intensify this restraint; (3) the level of regional green development has a negative spatial spillover effect, and specialized industries have an indirect inhibition effect on the level of green development in related regions. This correlation is not only reflected in geographical proximity, but also in economic links and human capital links, but the parameter estimation results of the influence of diversified industrial agglomeration on the level of green development in adjacent areas are not significant.
