Abstract: As a positive performance indicator, proactive behavior is regarded as a key determinant of competitive advantage and organizational success. However, there is still a lack of discussion on the relationship between inclusive leadership and employee proactive behavior. Based on social influence theory, this study explores the mechanism of inclusive Leadership on employee proactive behavior, further examines the mediating effect of trust in leader and the moderating effect of climate for inclusion. Through hierarchical regression analysis of cross level date collected from 135 enterprises, 237 teams and 1131 employees, we find that inclusive leadership has a positive effect on employee proactive behavior, and trust in leader partially mediates the above relationship; climate for inclusion moderates the relationship between trust in leader and proactive behavior, the higher in climate for inclusion, the stronger the positive relationship between trust in leader and proactive behavior. This study provides a new perspective to understand the relationship between inclusive leadership and employee proactive behavior.
