Abstract:

The paper uses Malmquist index to measure the developing level of China's eight service sub-industries' TFP in 1994-2011 and studies the effect of productivity changes on the income changes of state-owned and non-state-owned enterprises in the sub-industries. The results show that total factor productivity (TFP) change is positively related to the two kinds of enterprises' income change, but in state-owned enterprises, the TFP-wage elasticity coefficient is more remarkable. From the perspective of sub-industries, the TFP change of state-owned property right enterprises in the productive service industry has a bigger influence on staff salary change, but in the wholesale & retail, catering and real estate industries, TFP has more obvious effects on the non-state-owned enterprise wages. In addition, the market competition, the per capita investment in fixed assets, the maturity of the market and region economic development level have certain differences in the level of wage change impact in two kinds of property right enterprises.
